Tiger Woods is the only two-time winner this season on the PGA Tour. Both victories came at events where he was the defending champion (Buick Invitational and Ford Championship at Doral). Does that bode well for Woods this week as he tries to defend his Masters Tournament victory?
A look back at the winners of PGA Tour events this year:
MERCEDES CHAMPIONSHIPS: Stuart Appleby defeated Vijay Singh on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff to win the event for the third consecutive year.
SONY OPEN IN HAWAII: David Toms outdueled Chad Campbell and Rory Sabbatini to win by five shots.
BOB HOPE CHRYSLER CLASSIC: Chad Campbell held on in the final round despite some shaky play for the victory in the 90-hole event.
BUICK INVITATIONAL: Tiger Woods made his season debut a victorious one by defeating Jose Maria Olazabal and Nathan Green in a sudden-death playoff.
FBR OPEN: Long-hitting PGA Tour rookie J.B. Holmes secured his first career win with a seven-shot triumph in the desert.
AT&T PEBBLE BEACH NATIONAL PRO-AM: California native Arron Oberholser secured his first PGA Tour victory with solid play for a five-shot margin.
NISSAN OPEN: Rory Sabbatini held off defending champion Adam Scott and fan favorite Fred Couples for his third career victory.
WGC-ACCENTURE MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP: Geoff Ogilvy defeated Davis Love III 3 and 2 in the championship match at La Costa.
CHRYSLER CLASSIC OF TUCSON: Kirk Triplett closed with 63 to win his first event in three years.
FORD CHAMPIONSHIP AT DORAL: Tiger Woods overcame some shaky play late in the round to hold off David Toms and Camilo Villegas to win by one shot.
THE HONDA CLASSIC: Luke Donald finished strong to win for the second time in his PGA Tour career.
BAY HILL INVITATIONAL: Rod Pampling earned his second PGA Tour win with the help of some shaky putting by runner-up Greg Owen.
